WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Hofstra scored four times in the top of the seventh inning to claim a 4-0 victory over UNCW in the Colonial Athletic Association series finale at Boseman Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Pride, which swept the series against the Seahawks, improved to 18-17 overall and 7-4 in the CAA. UNCW saw its record dip to 28-10-1 overall and 8-4 in league play.

Lacey Clark each collected two hits to lead the Pride's six-hit attack.
Freshmen
Sarah Cornell and
Alyssa Irons combined to record the Pride's second shutout of the weekend. Cornell upped her record to 14-7 after yielding six hits over 6.1 innings with three walks and three strikeouts while Irons tallied her second save after retiring the final two batters.

Kelsey Bryan led UNCW with a season-high three hits.
