Tigers Swing Past Volleyhawks, 3-1

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Towson placed five players in double-digit kills as the Tigers knocked off UNCW, 3-1 (23-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-22), on Sunday in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action at Hanover Hall.

The Tigers halted a three-match losing streak with the win and raised their record to 17-3 overall and 3-3 in the CAA. UNCW dropped to 7-11 and 1-5.

Silvia Grassini headed up the TU offense with 14 kills and no errors for a .778 hitting average. The Tigers hit .353 for the match with Carola Biver adding 13 kills and a .444 hitting average.
  Maddy Kline paced UNCW with 11 kills and 16 digs for a double-double while Halle Hunt chipped in 10 kills.

Brynn Montgomery doled out a match-high 38 assists for the Seahawks while Towson's Marrisa Wonders and Julymar Otero had 35 and 22, respectively.
The Seahawks next visit William & Mary on Oct. 13.
