WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Junior Rachel Sharkey scored the game's only goal in the 70th minute as Drexel earned its third win in the last four games by edging UNCW, 1-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer contest at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The win allowed the Dragons to improve to 9-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the CAA while UNCW dropped to 5-8-2 overall with a 1-3-1 mark in league play after its third loss in the last four games.
Sharkey, who scored her first goal of the season, gave Drexel the one-goal lead with 20:21 remaining when she deflected in a shot by senior Imani Walker off a corner kick by junior Vanessa Kara.
Senior goalkeeper Christiana Ogunsami made five saves in the win for Drexel while recording her seventh shutout of the season.

Sydney Schneider tallied two saves for UNCW, which outshot the Dragons by a 16-7 margin.
Game Notes:
- Drexel has won three of the last five meetings with UNCW, but the Seahawks still hold a 9-5-3 all-time advantage in the series.
- Senior forward Serenity Waters led the Seahawks with four shots in the contest.
- UNCW attempted nine corner kicks against Drexel, marking the fifth time the Seahawks have registered at least nine corner kicks in a game this season.
