Hackert, Henderson Complete Seahawk Staff

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Two-time Colonial Athletic Association Coach-of-the-Year Kevin Keatts of UNCW has finalized the staff of the defending CAA champions with the addition of Travis Hackert and Hunter Henderson.

Hackert, who played a key role in UNCW's run to the 2016 CAA championship with his video expertise and organizational skills, has been named Director of Men's Basketball Operations. Henderson, meanwhile, takes over Hackert's vacated spot as Director of Men's Basketball Video Operations.

"Travis and Hunter will be great fits in these positions," said Keatts. "They are extremely hard workers who bring a lot of energy and passion to everything they do. It takes the talents of many people to build a championship team and these two young men will be big factors in our success."

Hackert, 24, has served as the program's Director of Video Operations the last two seasons since following Keatts from Louisville.

"We're very excited about Travis taking over this position," said Keatts. "I've known Travis for a long time and he's one of hardest working and efficient individuals I've ever worked alongside. He brings a lot of great organizational insight into the position, and we're looking forward to his input on many different levels in the seasons ahead."

A native of Ludington, Mich., Hackert came to UNCW from the University of Louisville, where he served as a student manager from 2010-14. He was promoted to head manager at UofL in August 2013.  Hackert was responsible for filming and editing Cardinal practices and games, along with editing game film for opponent scouting.

During Hackert's time at Louisville, the Cardinals made four NCAA appearances, won three conference tournament titles, appeared in two Final Fours, and won the NCAA National Championship in 2013. Hackert earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Louisville in May of 2014.

"I'm very blessed and honored to continue working for Coach Keatts at UNCW," said Hackert. "I've learned a great deal under his leadership and look forward to helping he and our student-athletes achieve success both on and off the court."

Henderson grew up in Wilmington and is a 2011 graduate of Coastal Christian High School. He served as an assistant coach at Coastal Christian while attending Cape Fear Community College. Henderson then transferred to N.C. State, where he was a manager for three years with the Wolfpack, rising to head manager in May of 2015.

Henderson worked as N.C. State's assistant video coordinator last year, assisting the Wolfpack coaching staff with video for scouting opponents.

"We're pleased to have Hunter join our staff," added Keatts. "He is a very talented young man who will contribute in many ways to the success of our program."
