WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore goalkeeper
Ryan Cretens made two saves as UNCW opened its Colonial Athletic Association schedule with a 1-1 double overtime tie against William & Mary at the UNCW Soccer Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Seahawks upped their record to 5-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the CAA while William & Mary saw its record improve to 5-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in league play.
UNCW took an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute when the Seahawks received an own goal after a crossing pass from junior midfielder
Kalvin Kromer was deflected by a Tribe defender and went into the goal.

Ryder Bell evened the score at 1-1 with 21:13 remaining in the first half when he headed in his third goal of the season off a free kick from sophomore forward

While Cretens posted two saves in the tie, junior goalkeeper
Phil Breno tallied six saves as UNCW outshot William & Mary by a 14-7 margin.
