Jackie Luna-Castro and
Shannon Hines combined to score 39 points as College of Charleston earned a 68-24 Colonial Athletic Association victory over UNCW at TD Arena on Wednesday evening.

The Cougars, who earned their first win since a 49-46 triumph over Drexel on Feb. 7, improved to 10-18 overall and 5-12 in the CAA. Meanwhile, the Seahawks dropped to 7-22 overall and 3-15 in the CAA.

Luna-Castro, who finished with a game-high 23 points, made 10 of 13 shots from the floor, including both of her three-point tries, and also added five rebounds. Hines shot 7-for-13 from the field to finish with 16 points while contributing six rebounds.

Jordan Henry tallied a game-high 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

How It Happened: Luna-Castro scored six of her points in the opening period as Charleston surged to an 18-4 lead and never looked back. The Seahawks narrowed the margin to 34-15 at the intermission, but the Cougars limited UNCW to just nine points after the intermission. Â Â
