WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Junior forward
Jordan Henry notched her fourth "double double" of the season with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, but it was not enough as UNCW dropped its Colonial Athletic Association opener against Elon with a 67-60 decision at Trask Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

The loss moved the Seahawks' record to 4-8 overall and 0-1 in the CAA while Elon improved to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the league after ending a two-game losing streak.
Henry, who played a career-high 39 minutes, made 4 of 10 shots from the floor and all four of her free throw attempts in the loss. She also tallied a career-high six blocked shots with two assists and two steals.

Sophomore guard
Shay Burnett led Elon to the victory by scoring 10 of her 13 points in the second half. She connected on four of seven field goal attempts in addition to a 4-for-6 effort from the free throw line.

Junior guard
Essence Baucom also added 13 points for the Phoenix while junior guard
Lauren Brown came off the bench to contribute 12 points, making 5 of 11 shots from the floor.

Jasmine Steele, who came off the bench to match Baucom and Burnett with a game-high 13 points. Junior guards

Naqaiyyah Teague each chipped 10 points while combining for 12 rebounds.

How It Happened: After UNCW overcame an 11-point deficit to tie the game at 27-27 with 1:11 left in the second quarter, the Phoenix scored the final six points of the first half for a 33-27 advantage at the intermission. UNCW rallied to take a 49-48 lead with 8:46 left in regulation on a Steele lay-up before the Phoenix scored six straight points for a 54-49 margin they did not relinquish.
