Q: Take us through your pre-match mental preparation routine.
Typically, I like to jam out in the locker room with my teammates to get hyped and energized for the game. When there is about three minutes left I close my eyes and visualize myself perfectly executing my serve receive passes and digging the hard driven balls directly to target. If I'm nervous and visualize myself shanking a pass I make sure I bounce back and nail the next, then I take a deep breath and try to relax before we go out.

Q: What was your most memorable moment and why.
When we played Charleston at home last year, the gym was packed and the band was playing and we swept them in three. They have always been our biggest rivals and it felt awesome to crush them at home.

Q: What are some community activities you or your team have done?
  • Habitat for humanity- helped build walls for a home for a family
  • Helped clean and decorate a barn for a Halloween haunted house
  • Chopped wood for families to heat their homes in the winter

Q: What is your intended or declared major and why did you choose that major?
Exercise science, I think it's a major that is relevant to every type of person and is always going to be important.

Q: Describe your dream job:
Traveling the world and getting paid for it with friends

Q: Favorite team tradition/activity and why?
Playing the iPod game in the vans; each person, including the coaches, closes their eyes and turns their music all the way up with headphones on and sings along. It's a funny way to see who has pipes and who doesn't on the team.

Q: Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
Morgan Owney, I think she will probably be surfing the world and doing some crazy thing with recreation and tourism.

Q: What animal would best describe you and why?
A pug because I just love them so much :)

Q: What is your favorite quote or phrase?
"The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do."

Q: What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, Italian etc.)? How about meal?
Mexican. My favorite meal is a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and asparagus.

Q: Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?
Greece. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been to and the way of life there is no stress and no worries so it is very peaceful.

Q: If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Amy Schumer. I think she is so funny and a lunch with her would be full of laughs and very fun.

Q: Most addicting television show?
Bachelor/Bachelorette, can't get enough.

Q: How will you change the world (or even just one person's world)?
I hope to change the world by helping someone improve their quality of life by living a healthier lifestyle

Q: Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know …
I was a model when I was eight for flower girl dresses and even walked in a show.

Q: What is number one on your bucket list and why?
Visit at least 20 countries. I think it's important to see the world and learn about the other cultures of life so we can understand there is more out there than just the bubble we live in and our problems probably aren't as big as they may seem.

Q: What is your best non-athletic skill?
Being a mom to my dog Odie :)

Q: Favorite person to follow on Twitter?
Seahawk volleyball, of course (@seahawkvb)

Dying a slow painful death

Moving 10 hours away from home.
