BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Despite another strong from junior Evan Phillips for UNCW, it was LSU's Alex Lange who was able to pick up the win as LSU advanced to Sunday's championship round of the Baton Rouge Regional with a 2-0 win over the Seahawks at Alex Box Stadium.

The Seahawks (40-17) will face Tulane for a second time in the regional at 4 p.m. EST on Sunday in an elimination game. The Tigers (50-10), meanwhile, will play the winner of that game at 8 p.m. EST.

Lange shutout the Seahawks, who had their seven-game winning streak halted, on six hits to raise his record to 11-0. He struck out 12 and walked two.

Phillips (2-2) took the loss for UNCW. Phillips allowed one run on eight hits and finished with three strikeouts.

Gavin Stupienski paced the Seahawks with two hits.
For LSU, Andrew Stevenson collected three hits while Jake Fraley added two.

How it happened: LSU collected three consecutive hits off Phillips to open the seventh. Kade Scivicque doubled and Stevenson and Chinea followed with singles. Chinea's drove in the first run of the game.
