CAA-Leading James Madison Sweeps Doubleheader From Seahawks

HARRISONBURG, Virginia – Freshman Megan Good (Fort Defiance H.S./Mount Sidney, Va.) and junior Jailyn Ford (Bath County H.S./Hot Springs, Va.) combined to allow two hits in the circle as No. 24/25 James Madison extended its win streak to 22 consecutive games by sweeping a Colonial Athletic Association doubleheader over visiting UNCW at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Dukes, who improved to 31-6 overall and 10-0 in the CAA, earned the win in the first game by a 7-1 margin before claiming an 8-0 victory in a five-inning affair to complete the sweep. Meanwhile, UNCW dropped its record to 15-20 overall and 2-9 in the CAA.

Good earned the win in the circle in the first game after allowing just one hit in 5.2 innings while recording five strikeouts with two walks. She also hit her sixth home run of the season in the first inning with a two-run shot to left field.
