Up next: The Seahawks and Seminoles close out the series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. start. The game can be heard for free at UNCWsports.com.

How it happened: Josh Delph opened the fateful eighth for FSU getting hit by a pitch. DeLuzio followed with a bunt single that sent Delph around to third. Pinch hitter Gage West followed with a bloop single to score Delph with the tying run and sent DeLuzio to third. DeLuzio would score the go-ahead run on a passed ball one batter later for a 4-3 lead.

Inside the box score: UNCW managed one two-out hit, a RBI single by Robbie Thorburn that gave UNCW a 3-2 lead in the eighth … Thorburn's hit was also the only hit for UNCW with runners in scoring position … FSU was no better, going 1-for-10 with two out and 2-for-11 with RISP.

Notes: The Seahawks struck out 12 times, four looking while the Seminoles fanned nine times … Neither starter figured in the decision, UNCW's Ryan Foster allowed two runs over five innings while FSU's Boomer Biegalski struck out seven and allowed three runs, two earned, in 6.2 innings … Biegalski retired 14 consecutive UNCW hitters from the second inning through the seventh … UNCW (7) and FSU (11) combined for 18 runners left on base … Terence Connelly recorded seven assists at third base for UNCW … Connelly also extended his on base streak to eight game to open the season … The Seahawks now trail the all-time series with FSU, 5-0.
