NORFOLK, Virginia – Led by a career-high 13 points and nine rebounds from sophomore forward
Rebekah Banks, UNCW passed its first test on the court after its fall semester final exams with a 61-57 victory over Norfolk State at Joseph G. Echols Hall on Sunday evening.

The Seahawks, who improved to 3-3 on the season, earned their first road victory of the year while Norfolk State dropped to 0-7.

Banks came off the bench to make five of eight field goal attempts and all three of her free throw attempts while posting her first career double-digit scoring effort. She was one of three UNCW players to score in double figures as junior guard
Naqaiyyah Teague added 13 points while junior guard
Amber Reeves matched her season high with 10 points.

How It Happened: After falling behind by a 20-19 margin in the opening quarter, the Seahawks held Norfolk State to just 3-for-13 shooting from the field in the second stanza to build a 38-32 advantage they did not relinquish. Teague led the Seahawks' second quarter efforts by scoring six points.
