Katie Johnston scored the game's lone goal less than two minutes into the second half as William & Mary edged UNCW, 1-0, in the first semifinal at the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Championship at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Friday night.

The second-seeded Tribe, which improves to 14-3-2 on the season, advance to the championship game against either top-seeded Hofstra or fourth-seeded James Madison on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks, who were the No. 3 seed in the tournament, had a four-game win streak snapped while falling to 14-6-1.

After a scoreless first half, Johnston gave William & Mary a one-goal edge when she headed in a corner kick from senior midfielder

The Seahawks had several good chances to even the score in the second half, but were unable to score the tying goal.

Caroline Casey, the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, made two saves to earn her CAA-leading 10th shutout of the season for the Tribe. Junior goalkeeper
