FOUR SEAHAWKS HONORED ON ALL-CAA TEAMS
Four UNCW softball players – Kara Hammock, Cassidy Relay, Skylar Stockton and Tayler Vitola – have earned All-Coastal Athletic Association Postseason honors following a vote of the league's 12 head coaches.

Stockton's breakout graduate season landed the outfielder on the All-CAA First Team. Hammock, a pitcher, and Vitola, a second baseman, received All-CAA Second-Team distinctions while Relay, an outfielder, earned CAA All-Rookie accolades.

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS

UNCW, in its 40th fastpitch softball season, broke a program record with 18 conference wins, breaking the previous total set one year ago. The Seahawks won their first eight conference games and swept four CAA series.

UNCW was once again boosted in the circle by the ace duo of Hammock and Emily Winstead. Both finished with sub-2.00 ERAs and combined for 217 strikeouts across 251.2 innings pitched.

Winstead made history when she threw the fifth no-hitter in program history on Apr. 27 at Drexel. The junior right-hander faced one batter above the minimum and struck out nine in the Seahawks' 15-0 run-rule victory over the Dragons.

At the plate, a pair of slappers in Vitola and Relay start the action. Both players have hit over .350 this season and combined for 34 steals. Vitola became the fourth Seahawk to surpass 200 career hits while Relay led the CAA's first-year players with 44 hits.
