Isley Takes Second At Seahawk Intercollegiate, UNCW Third

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Twenty-seventh ranked TCU held off Wright State and UNCW over the final round as the Horned Frogs captured the Seahawk Intercollegiate in men's golf action Monday on the Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall.

TCU, which won its second straight tournament title, fashioned a season-best 21-under-par over the course of three rounds while the Raiders and Seahawks followed with scores of 20 and 19-under, respectively. James Madison and Stetson tied for fourth, both finishing tied for fourth at 14-under.

Toledo's Barend Botha captured medalist honors by two strokes over UNCW's Walker Isley, who posted his third top-10 finish of the season. Andrew Swanson (Clemson), Aymeric Laussot (TCU) and Edwin Blomander (Campbell) tied for third at nine-under.

Isley (72-67-67=206) set a career-low tournament score to pace the Seahawks. Freshman teammate Gray Mitchum (70-72-67=209) collected his second top-10 finish of his brief career and set a career-low mark for a tournament score.

Sam Hogan (75-65-74=214), another UNCW freshman, competed as an individual and finished a career-best 24th. His second round 65 was one off tying the tournament record for a single round.

The Seahawks next compete in the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial on Apr. 10-11, in Charlottesville, Va.
