HEMPSTEAD, New York – Freshman
Emily Moxley scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season as UNCW earned a 1-1 double overtime draw against Hofstra in a meeting of the top two teams in the Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer standings at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who are now unbeaten in their last six games, improved to 9-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the CAA. Hofstra, which owns an 11-game unbeaten streak, stands at 11-3-2 overall with a 5-0-2 mark against league opponents.
Moxley gave the Seahawks a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute as the Seahawks took advantage of a Hofstra miscue. Senior

But, Hofstra answered early in the second half to even the score at 1-1. Junior Sabrina Bryan sent a pass along the near side to junior Lucy Porter, who placed a crossing pass into the box that was knocked in by senior Miri Taylor for her seventh goal of the season.
