Raiford G. Trask, Sr.

One of the pivotal supporters in the early establishment of the UNC Wilmington athletic program was Raiford Graham Trask.

A prominent businessman and philanthropist, Trask was highly instrumental in helping the program get off the ground with his time, talents and financial resources.

Trask Coliseum, the cornerstone of the athletic program, was constructed in 1977 because of the many behind-the-scenes contributions of the talented man. He also was a driving force behind the addition of permanent seating for the Brooks Field baseball stadium.
Trask was a member of the Wilmington College Board of Trustees for 10 years, and served the college and university in an outstanding manner throughout his life.
