Seahawks Announce Additions to 2018 Roster

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's soccer team will add a group of four high school standouts to the roster for the 2018 season.

Kendall Augsburg of Cary, N.C., Talia Parrous of Fayetteville, N.C., Carey Allard of Belmont, Mass., and Brooklyn Berry of Clemmons, N.C., will join the Seahawks in the fall. In addition, Alyssa McLaughlin of Greenville, N.C., joined the team in January after graduating early from D.H. Conley High School.

Position: Defense

Club Team: FC Boston Scorpions ECNL

Highlights: Scored 67 goals with 34 assists in three seasons at Belmont High School, including 19 goals with six assists as a senior … three-time Middlesex League and Eastern Massachusetts All-Star selection …named as Middlesex League Most Valuable Player as a senior … led Middlesex League in scoring three consecutive seasons … named All-Scholastic by Boston Herald as a senior … received All-State and Esmark All-America honors during senior campaign … competed in several CASL and ECNL Showcase events … two-sport athlete who also competed on indoor track & field team as a freshman and senior … mother, Jennifer, played field hockey at Springfield College … father, Frederick, played on UMass Lowell ice hockey team … cousin, Danny Coale, played football at Virginia Tech … cousin, Ryan Coale, played football at James Madison … cousin, Kevin Coale, played lacrosse at Virginia.

Brooklyn Berry
Position: Defense
Height: 5-5
Hometown: Clemmons, N.C.
High School: West Forsyth
Club Team: Charlotte Soccer Academy

Highlights: Three-time all-state and all-conference selection at West Forsyth High School … scored 57 goals with 16 assists as a junior … named Offensive Player-of-the-Year three times … tallied eight goals with five assists last year for Charlotte Soccer Academy.

Alyssa McLaughlin
Position: Midfield/Defense
Height: 5-7
Hometown: Greenville, N.C.
High School: D.H. Conley
Club Team: Pitt Greenville Soccer Association/NC Fusion ECNL

Highlights: Two-time all-conference and all-region selection for D.H. Conley High School who scored 11 goals with three assists as a junior … named Defensive Player-of-the-Year while serving as team captain … helped the Vikings to three consecutive conference championships, including a pair of unbeaten conference seasons … scored three goals with four assists last year for Pitt Greenville Soccer Association … competed in three ECNL Showcase events (Sanford, Texas, New Jersey) … outstanding athlete who also competed on cross country and track & field teams at D.H. Conley.

Highlights: Three-year letter winner at Terry Sanford High School who scored 25 goals with 14 assists last season … honored as All-Cape Fear Region Player-of-the-Year by Fayetteville Observer in 2017 … named Cape Fear Valley Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Year as a junior in addition to receiving First-Team all-conference distinction … also earned all-region and all-state honors … scored two goals with five assists last season for NCFC ECNL club team … competed in numerous club events, including 2017 USYS National Championship and 2018 Florida ECNL Showcase … two-sport athlete who also played three seasons on Terry Sanford varsity basketball team.
