WILMINGTON, North Carolina – With the 20-win milestone reached, the UNCW men's basketball team sweeps down to Colonial Williamsburg early Saturday to battle William & Mary's Tribe in the club's final contest in January.

It's been a historic first month of the year for Coach Kevin Keatts and his team. UNCW (20-2, 9-0) is perfect in January and closes out a two-game swing to Virginia with Saturday's 4 p.m. tilt at Kaplan Arena.

The Seahawks have moved into rarified air in the college men's hoops world, joining unbeaten Gonzaga as the only teams to reach the 20-win plateau at this juncture of the season. Keatts and his staff have done it with an up-tempo, balanced attack loaded with experience and budding young talent.

"It's flattering, but we don't talk about the rankings and all," said Keatts, who stands 39-11 in Colonial Athletic Association games in three seasons. "We play in a great conference and being ranked in the polls won't help us win tomorrow. Anybody can beat you in this conference at any time."

UNCW is coming off its 12th double-digit victory of the season after blowing past James Madison, 87-76, late Thursday in Harrisonburg, Va. Six men reached double figures for the second time this season, topped by senior guard Chris Flemmings, who had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Sophomore forward Devontae Cacok posted his ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 boards.

As a team, the Seahawks erupted for 16-of-35 trifectas and set a JMU Convocation Center record for most triples. Three different players – Flemmings, Denzel Ingram and Ambrose Mosley – had at least four three-balls in the first pairing this season with the Dukes.

The Seahawks are 10th nationally in scoring offense with 86.4 points per game and feature four players in double figures: Flemmings (16.0), Cacok (12.9), Ingram (15.3) and sophomore guard C.J. Bryce (16.9 ). Cacok leads all players in NCAA Division I in field goal percentage, connecting on 80.3 percent of his field goal attempts.

W&M (10-9, 4-4) breezed past Delaware on Thursday night at Kaplan Arena as the Tribe sizzled from the floor. Veteran coach Tony Shaver's club shot 56.9 percent and drained 11-of-23 behind the arc en route to an 82-58 rout. Senior guard Daniel Dixon made all four of his three-point field goal attempts for a team-high 21 points.

Like UNCW, the Tribe plays particularly well at home. UNCW (9-0) and W&M (8-0) are the only teams in the league unscathed at home this season.

Keatts has some added incentive in Saturday's matinee. The successful UNCW coach stands an outstanding17-6 in visiting CAA venues, but has not won in two appearances in Williamsburg.

After Saturday's clash with the Tribe, the Seahawks open the final month of the regular season at Trask Coliseum with a two-game homestand, beginning on Thursday with the College of Charleston. UNCW, which has not lost at home since Feb. 25, 2016, plays five of its final eight games on the coast.
